Frequently asked

What is Beacon41?

Beacon41 is a free web directory and reference register. The ledger holds 830 filed entries across 22 topic accounts, each representing an active website that has been submitted and approved for listing. The directory is open for public inspection at no charge.

Is it free to list my site?

Yes. Submitting a site to Beacon41 costs nothing. Complete the submission form with your URL, a selected account category, and a brief description of the site. Once the entry has been reviewed and approved, it is filed in the appropriate account and available in the public record.

How are sites organised in the directory?

The Beacon41 ledger is divided into 22 accounts, each representing a sector of the web — from Finance & Markets Register and Health & Medical Accounts to the General Register for sites that span multiple topics. Each entry is filed in the account that best matches the primary subject of the site.

How do I submit a site?

Use the submission form on the Add a Site page. Provide the full URL of the site you wish to register, select the account that fits best, and write a short description. Submissions are reviewed individually before being posted to the ledger.

Do you review submissions before they are listed?

Yes. Every submission is individually reviewed before an entry is posted to the Beacon41 register. The review checks that the site is accessible, that the submitted description is accurate, and that the selected account is appropriate. Entries that pass review are then filed in the ledger and made available to the public.

Can I update or remove my listing?

To request an amendment or removal of a filed entry, use the contact details available on the site. Provide the domain of the entry and the change required. Amendments are applied to the ledger record on a best-efforts basis.

How many sites are in the directory?

The Beacon41 ledger currently holds 830 approved entries across 22 accounts. The General Register is the largest single account with 189 entries, followed by Casino & Wagering Accounts with 117. The directory grows as new submissions are reviewed and filed.

About the Beacon41 Index

Beacon41 is a free web directory that maintains an open register of 830 active websites, filed across 22 accounts by topic. Each entry in the Beacon41 ledger is individually recorded with a domain reference, site title, and brief description. The directory operates as a reference index — a publicly accessible log of the sites that have been submitted and approved for listing. Site owners may register a new entry at no charge using the submission form. The twenty-two accounts in the ledger range from Casino & Wagering Accounts, which carries the largest single inventory at 117 entries, to the Property & Real Estate Accounts with five recorded sites. Beacon41 does not rank entries by commercial value — every filed record sits in the ledger on equal terms.
